... but why?

Possibly my favorite character of all time. I can't believe I haven't drawn him (and finished it all the way to dA) before. His line in the first movie was really inspirational to me as a child. "I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you choose to do with the gift of life that determines who You are." His backstory with Ai/Amber is so sad, and just makes me want to hug him! :iconcryforeverplz: Thus the title.

I own nothing, not even my cat, and Pokémon belongs to Nintendo/Tajiri Satoshi

Mewtwo was and still is my favorite pokemon of all time. At first it was just because he was psychic-type and looked cool. I really fell hard for psychics in general. But the more I got to know about him, the more I got to liking him.

Then my mother got me the first movie. Just from what I saw made me fall hard for him. I knew myself what it was like to feel like you didn't belong, and I just wanted to scoop him up in my arms and hug him! Then a few years later I read about the backstory with Ai and that was it. He would always be my fav. Now that I'm older and have studied what makes characters/stories good, I can really appreciate him in a new way: he's a very well-written character.

In the end, I'd like to see him eventually remember what all happened with Ai, possibly in a fight between himself and Mirage Mewtwo. Aaaand I went on that whole nostalgic tyraid without commenting ONCE on your pic gah...sorry I'll do that now!

The picture is good overall, although it could do better with more attention to proportions. He looks a little stretched out. The attention to the eyes are nice, but the glowy-bits on the hands are a little brighter and tend to draw the viewer's eyes away from his. A good way to remedy this next time would be to have him hold up his hands near his eyes, concentrating the glow in one various area, or to bend one arm, creating a flow between the three glows. I hope that makes sense; it's hard to genuinely convey that sort of idea without SOME sort of visual.
